Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence (1983)

As the storm clouds of World War II gather, Lt. Col. John Lawrence finds himself confined within the hostile walls of a Japanese POW camp. His prison is presided over by the formidable Captain Yonoi and the stern Sgt. Hara, where Lawrence's fluency in Japanese and understanding of their mindset place him in a precarious position.
