Plot

On the day of her birthday, gifted engineer Samantha "Sam" Walczak embarks on a daunting assignment bestowed upon her by her father: to undertake a structural analysis of an enigmatic eight-story building, a monolith in the wilderness marked for demolition. Upon her arrival, she encounters the building's persisting occupants - a motley crew consisting of the vigilant caretaker Mary, her adolescent son Jimmy, the elusive Burnett, and the mysterious lady Denise, all clinging to their homes despite their eviction notices. Inhabiting the eerily untouched apartment 208, Sam is pulled into the building's web of secrets, guided by the peculiar "rules" advised by her new friend, Jimmy. As nights turn into a haunting spectacle of spectral noises and unsettling occurrences, the building's ominous past begins to unfold before Sam's eyes. She unearths the disturbing history of the building's renowned architect, Joseph Malestrazza, who designed the structure following the cryptic principles of the Egyptian pyramids. A dozen years prior, a vengeful worker seeking retribution sealed the dwellers, including Mary's cherished husband, within the building's concrete walls, creating a living tomb. With each passing day, Sam experiences increasingly bizarre events that lead her to suspect Jimmy of mischief. However, as she delves deeper, the horrifying truth of Malestrazza's architectural marvel emerges. Now, in a chilling race against time, Sam must outwit a silent predator lurking within the building's walls before she becomes the next entrant in its gruesome history.
