In the exotic landscapes of Phuket Island, Thailand, architect Paul Bellmer and his wife Jeanne find themselves entangled in a haunting quest. Six months ago, their lives were shattered when their son Joshua vanished in the devastating tsunami. Jeanne, trapped in a vortex of despair and denial, refuses to accept the grim reality of her son's disappearance. Their lives take an unexpected turn when Jeanne stumbles across some footage from far-flung Myanmar. A fleeting glimpse of a boy, clad in a Manchester United shirt amidst the squalor of a poverty-stricken village, ignites a spark of hope. Could it be Joshua? Driven by an amalgam of desperation and hope, the couple embarks on a heart-wrenching journey to find their lost son. Enlisting the dubious services of trafficker Thaksin Gao, they sail the treacherous Thai-Burmese waters under the guidance of seasoned boatmaster, Sonchai. But the sea, capricious and unforgiving, is just the beginning of their odyssey. After a sequence of uncanny incidents, they find themselves abandoned in a forsaken village, the threshold of a forbidding jungle that promises nothing but horror. Their desperate quest spirals into a terrifying ordeal as they plunge deeper into the heart of the jungle, facing a series of horrifying dangers. ‘Vinyan’ is a chilling narrative of undying hope and relentless fear, a journey that teeters on the precipice of the surreal and the macabre. Will they find their son in this jungle of nightmares, or will they lose themselves in the process?
