Tremors 2: Aftershocks (1996)

In the heart of Mexico, a sinister force emerges from beneath the earth, threatening the existence of the Petromaya oil refinery. This force isn't your usual corporate sabotage, but a relentless army of Graboids - monstrous, subterranean worms with an insatiable hunger. The owners, desperate and out of options, reach out to Earl Bassett, a man whose reputation as a Graboid slayer precedes him. Once the hero of Perfection, Nevada, where he bravely battled these creatures, Earl has since lost his celebrity fortune and retreated into obscurity. However, the promise of a $50,000 bounty for each Graboid's head and the infectious enthusiasm of Grady Hoover, a zealous admirer, lure Bassett back into the fray. Hoover, swiftly becoming his unlikely partner, accompanies Earl to the Petromaya refinery. It's here they encounter geologist Kate Reilly, rounding off a team of unexpected heroes. Armed with cunning, bravery, and a fleet of bomb-rigged, remote-controlled cars, they hatch a plan to trick the Graboids into their own demise. But as the ground trembles beneath their feet and the number of Graboids far exceeds their expectations, Earl realizes they're in deeper than ever before. In a desperate move, he calls for backup in the form of Burt Gummer, a seasoned survivalist armed to the teeth with an artillery of weapons. "Tremors 2: Aftershocks" is a seismic roller coaster of adventure and terror, as our heroes confront an enemy that strikes from below. But even as they arm themselves with explosives and courage, they find that the Graboids have terrifying new surprises in store. Can Earl and his team outwit these subterranean nightmares once again, or will they find themselves swallowed by the very earth they tread upon?
