Plot
In the heart of the Nardi family, we find Arnaldo, Anita and their twin daughters, Martina and Federica. They epitomize the typical middle-class existence. But Arnaldo, standing on the precipice of his life's twilight, finds himself yearning for the days of his youth, when he was a student. The allure of reliving his past becomes irresistible. He dreams of tasting those ephemeral moments again, of inspiring someone in their roaring twenties to chase their dreams fearlessly, just as he once did. To the point of even stealing a caravel of Columbus, if that's what it takes.
So, when a miscommunication leads to his wife evicting him from their home, Arnaldo sees it not as a setback but an opportunity for his personal "time machine". He moves into a student house, where four individuals, all in their early twenties, become his new roommates. Living among them, Arnaldo dives into their world, their dreams, their uncertainties, which he, unfortunately, feels he has outgrown.
The movie presents a fascinating juxtaposition of two generations, two perspectives of the future, yet converging on a singular desire: to reclaim the stolen caravel, if it indeed exists.
