Plot

Newly released after spending three years in the Joliet Penitentiary, Jake Blues reunites with his brother, Elwood and visits the orphanage where they grew up. While seeing the head nun, Sister Mary Stigmata and their old friend and father figure, Curtis, the brothers learn that the orphanage owes $5000 in taxes, putting it in jeopardy. Advised to go to church by Curtis, Jake and Elwood attend a service where Jake gets the idea of reuniting their band to raise money for the orphanage. However, several obstacles arise during their quest for the reunion and performances in the form of Nazis, police, a country-western band and an ex-girlfriend.
