Plot
In 2005, the Martin family purchases a household robot for simple cleaning tasks. One of the Martin children capriciously orders the robot to injure itself, irritating her parents and leading to a new household rule: Treat the robot like a member of the family. Over time, the robot displays emotions and even creativity, two things that no machine should have. The family slowly begins to bond with the robot, leading to life-long friendships and a new definition of the meaning of humanity.
