Geeky Ted Stroehmann hasn't changed much since high school. He's still shy, still weird and still in love with Mary Jensen. In an attempt at closure, he hires a private investigator to track Mary down. The investigator quickly falls in love with Mary as well, leading to a hilarious debacle as both men pursue the same woman. Meanwhile, several other suitors chase after Mary, all eager to eliminate their competition and end up with the irresistible Mary.
