In the heart of Los Angeles, Christopher Pride, a talented commercial artist, finds artistic validation when he wins a coveted contest to paint a mural for a new government edifice in Paris. This victory not only secures him a substantial cash prize, but also an all-expenses-paid year-long sojourn in the City of Light. With the prospect of this Parisian adventure dawning, Christopher yearns to marry his longtime love, accomplished psychiatrist Dr. Elizabeth Acord, who he imagines will accompany him on this idyllic journey.
However, the ever-dedicated Dr. Liz faces a professional predicament. She is comfortable reassigning most of her clientele, but three of her patients - the enchanting Susan Manning, captivating Anna Jacque, and intriguing Mary Lou Mauve - are all grappling with the emotional aftermath of painful breakups. Their progress is crucial, and Liz believes she cannot abandon them, leaving her Parisian dreams hanging by a thread.
