50/50 (2011)

At 27 years-old, Adam lives with his girlfriend Rachael. He regularly spends time with his best friend Kyle. An unexpected cancer diagnosis throws Adam's life into disarray, and he must begin chemotherapy. Adam's mother offers to take care of him, but he declines the offer and continues his everyday activities. During this time, he starts therapy sessions with Katherine McKay. Katherine is working on her PhD thesis and treating Adam for the clinical part of it. Adam must contend with his own mortality and his relationships with the people around him. There's no certainty he'll overcome the cancer in his body.
