The Uncovering (2018)

In the quaint seaside hamlet, the sudden emergence of an Albanian woman, Vera, sets off a chain of events that draw Jordi, a recent arrival from Argentina, into the enigma of his father's past. Jordi, in town to pay respects at the funeral of a prominent Minister, finds his attention diverted by the mystery of his father, Pau, whose disappearance twenty years prior has been left unresolved and almost forgotten. With the aid of his cousin, Diego, the son of the recently deceased politician, they delve into the murky abyss of their family's past. Diego, a nomadic writer leading a secluded life in a village nestled in Perpignan, becomes an unlikely ally in Jordi's quest. Together, they race against time, digging through the layers of deceit and secrecy, aiming to uncover the truth about Pau, who had risked everything to free Tirana, Vera's mother, from the clutches of a ruthless criminal syndicate that had ensnared her in the world of prostitution. Their search becomes more than an investigation; it's a journey into the heart of their family's legacy, a battle against time, and a desperate quest for redemption.
