As the clock strikes midnight on New Year's Eve, the once magnificent passenger ship, the SS Poseidon, now destined for the scrapyard, faces a terrifying ordeal. A monstrous 90-foot tidal wave strikes with unrelenting force, toppling the ship and inverting her world, turning grandeur into grave and staterooms into death traps. In this chaotic, upside-down labyrinth of metal and menace, nine survivors find themselves tethered by survival and hope. These unlikely comrades, led by the indomitable Reverend Frank Scott, are a tapestry of humanity: Manny and Belle Rosen, the elderly couple journeying to Israel to meet their grandson; Mike and Linda Rogo, the New York detective and his ex-prostitute wife, seeking to rekindle their love on a second honeymoon to Italy; Robin and Susan Shelby, the innocent siblings en route to a reunion with their parents in Greece; James Martin, the humble haberdasher; Nonnie Parry, the pop singer with a voice now drowned in dread; and Acres, the ship’s waiter who knows the vessel's secrets. Their escape becomes a perilous odyssey through the innards of the capsized ship, navigating through a nightmarish landscape of steam, fire, and rising water. Their destination? The ship's propeller shaft, a beacon of deliverance that now, ironically, stands as the highest point in their inverted world. In The Poseidon Adventure, the struggle for survival is as relentless as the sea, and the human spirit is tested beyond the limits of endurance. Amidst the terror and turmoil, these survivors must find a way to defy the odds and rise above their predicament, before the Poseidon claims them in her watery grave.
