The Perfect Furlough (1958)

In the icy wilderness of the Arctic, a crowd of 104 bachelor soldiers bear the weight of a year-long, top-secret mission at a cutting-edge US Army radar station. Isolated, single, and bracing the harsh conditions for seven months, the men teeter on the brink of emotional collapse due to the acute absence of female companionship. Recognizing their plight, Army psychologist Lieutenant Vicki Loren hatches a plan to salvage their morale by offering one lucky soldier a "perfect furlough" - a tantalizing three weeks in Paris with the renowned movie star, Sandra Roca, also known as the Argentinean Bombshell. Unknown to the officers, the entire furlough process is cunningly manipulated by Corporal Paul Hodges, a man more drafted than volunteering, notorious for his overactive libido. Seeing an opportunity to satiate his desires, Hodges orchestrates this dream furlough for himself. Amid the enchanting Parisian streets, the Army, in alliance with Roca's management, attempts to maintain the facade of Paul's perfect furlough, while subtly protecting Sandra from Paul's relentless advances. As this comedic tale unravels, a diverse team of Army personnel, including Lieutenant Loren, Major Collins, and a few MPs, are tasked with guarding the vivacious Sandra from the insatiable Paul. Yet, the real challenge emerges when they must answer the question: who will guard the guardian? As the trio embarks on two unforgettable journeys to the picturesque French countryside, they are forced to confront their feelings, leading to unexpected complications and a revelation of true intentions in this whirlwind of love, deception, and high-stakes camaraderie.
