Plot

Basking in the glow of contentment, Alicia Marnet de Ibáñez presides over an idyllic life as a high school history teacher and affluent housewife in Buenos Aires, circa 1983. The shadows of the recently fallen "junta militar" government, which seized power in 1976, scarcely touch her radiant existence. Her world orbits around her husband Roberto, a successful lawyer, and their cherubic five-year-old adopted daughter, Gaby. Alicia's blissful ignorance of the dark undertones of the past military coup, however, is shattered when a history student challenges her to look beyond the polished surface of history books. This sparks a relentless quest within her to uncover unsettling truths. The ghosts of the coup awaken as Alicia embarks on a mission to discover if Gaby is the progeny of a woman who vanished during those tumultuous times. As her husband Roberto uncovers Alicia's relentless pursuit, he marshals his resources to barricade her path to the truth. Yet, Alicia's determination proves unyielding. In this gripping narrative, witness her resolve as it battles against the veils of deception, illuminating the power of truth, no matter how deeply buried.
