Plot

In the high-octane thriller "The Mechanik", Dolph Lundgren delivers a hard-hitting performance as Nick Cherenko, a former Russian Special Forces operative turned mechanic in the bustling cityscape of Los Angeles. The sting of his tragically obliterated past, where his wife and young son were mercilessly killed by ruthless Russian mobsters led by the notorious drug lord Aleksandr 'Sasha' Popov, forces him into a self-imposed exile from his homeland. In the heart of LA, Cherenko finds solitude under the greasy hood of cars, mending what's broken - a poignant reflection of the life he once had. But the quiet rhythm of his new life is abruptly shattered when a wealthy Russian expat, bearing news of her kidnapped daughter, beseeches him for help. The allure of a hefty payday pricks his interest, but it's the revelation of the tormentors' identity that truly stirs the dormant soldier within. The ghosts of his past have returned, wearing the faces of Sasha's brutal henchmen. Compelled by a furious desire for retribution and the chance to salvage another shattered family, Cherenko embarks on a perilous mission. The road to rescue is strewn with danger and death, leading him back to the cold reaches of Russia and towards a potential escape across the Finnish border. With each step, the body count rises, and the echoes of his past grow louder, pushing Cherenko to the brink. The question remains: will he succeed in saving the girl, and in doing so, finally find his redemption?
