Plot

Enshrouded in a veil of deceit, Marnie Edgar is a skilled kleptomaniac with a penchant for weaving elaborate lies. Employing her talents as a secretary, she infiltrates unsuspecting firms only to abscond months later with their money, leaving a trail of betrayal in her wake. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she secures a position at Rutland's, attracting the attention of its charming owner, Mark Rutland. Mark, intrigued yet wary, thwarts Marnie's habitual theft and flight but compels her into a matrimony she's ill-prepared for. Their honeymoon unravels into a chaotic mess, as Marnie grapples with her deep-seated aversion to male touch. Upon their return, a troubled Mark hires a private detective, desperate to unearth the secrets buried in her past. As the detective uncovers the traumatic events of Marnie's childhood that have shaped her into the woman she is, Mark realizes that confronting these repressed memories might be their only hope. He orchestrates a riveting showdown with Marnie's mother, believing that forcing Marnie to relive her harrowing past could set her free. "Marnie" is an enthralling journey into the depths of a woman's psyche, a chilling exploration of the far-reaching effects of childhood trauma, and a testament to the redemptive power of truth.
