Dial M for Murder (1954)

Tony Wendice decides to have his wife Margot murdered after he finds out that she's been cheating on him with crime author Mark Halliday. He thinks that murder is the better option because he's the inheritor of her will. Tony would lose access to her money if they divorced. He hires former classmate Swann to take care of the hit. The murder attempt quickly goes awry.
