Plot
The Torchwood Institution is tasked with the important job of protecting society from the existential threats that constantly endanger humanity's existence. As a secret agency working under the Crown, they're accountable to practically no one — and they're overseen by a con man who traveled back from 3000 years in the future. Captain Jack Harkness isn't conventional in any aspect of his life, but his eccentric approach to his job makes him both the ideal candidate for the job and a potential loose cannon. But he fortunately has a capable team at his back to handle threats both supernatural and alien in origin.
