Plot

In the atmospheric and vibrant city of Bologna, a beleaguered and once-renowned actor, Giovanni, finds himself drawn back to his roots following the tragic demise of his twin brother, Pippo - a wealthy yet love-torn man who chose the path of suicide. The family, in a desperate attempt to soothe their matriarch's heart, frames Pippo's death as an unanticipated accident. However, the facade of tranquility shatters with the obstinacy of Vanda, Pippo's ex-fiancée, who refuses to partake in the grieving process or attend the solemn funeral. As a hushed family dinner unfolds, Vanda unveils the existence of a note left behind by Pippo. The revelation sends another wave of panic through the family, who are again compelled to shield their mother from the harsh truth. Amid the chaos, a task is bestowed upon Giovanni - to coax the stoic Vanda into maintaining the charade of normalcy. As Giovanni steps into the task, he uncovers the layers of Vanda's complicated life - her strained relationship with a suspicious father, who condemns her for an alleged affair with a doctor. The narrative dives deeper into this mystery, exploring the reasons for Vanda's medical visits, the evolving dynamics between her and Giovanni, and his journey towards personal redemption and rebirth. "The Eyes, the Mouth" intricately blends elements of family drama, personal turmoil, and unspoken attractions into a compelling cinematic journey, inviting viewers to witness the poignant transformation of its protagonists.
