Sliver (1993)

In the heart of New York City, Carly Norris, a successful book editor, attempts to turn a new leaf after the bitter end of her marriage. She settles into an upscale apartment complex known as the "Sliver" on the twentieth floor, completely unaware of its dark history steeped in chilling, unsolved murders. This luxurious behemoth of a building in Manhattan is far from ordinary, its high-tech allure hides a sinister underbelly that Carly is yet to discover. Carly's presence in the building doesn't go unnoticed. She catches the attention of two distinct personalities that reside in the same complex - Jack Landsford, a burned-out author of thrillers seeking inspiration in the concrete jungle, and Zeke Hawkins, a charming yet enigmatic video-game designer who also happens to own the apartment building. A passionate and seductive love affair blossoms between Carly and Zeke, adding another layer of intrigue to her new life. Simultaneously, a shadowy voyeur seems to have an eye on the tenants, observing their every move from the unseen corners of the building. As the death toll of female neighbors inexplicably rises, the whispers of a serial killer lurking within the walls of the Sliver grow louder. The police are on high alert, but the mystery remains unsolved. Carly suddenly finds herself at a crossroads, entangled in a web of seduction, suspicion, and fear. With the realization that she could very well be the next target, Carly must navigate through the treacherous maze of her new home before it's too late.
