Plot

In the austere seclusion of a small coastal Chilean town, four excommunicated Catholic priests find refuge in a shared house, their sanctuary from the world. Overseen by Mother Mónica (Antonia Zegers), they are tasked to seek redemption for their sins away from the eyes of society. This ensemble of disgraced clergy, marred by accusations ranging from child abuse to forcibly separating babies from their unwed mothers, strives to maintain a quiet existence. However, the fragile harmony of their daily routine shatters with the arrival of a fifth man, an unwelcome echo of their own tarnished pasts. This newcomer, a pedophile, serves as a stark reminder of the disturbing deeds they once committed. The Catholic Church, in response to the escalating tension, dispatches a crisis counselor to this obscure beach town. His mission is not only to stabilize the situation but also to ensure these fallen priests continue their path to atonement. The Club (2015) weaves an intense narrative that plunges into the heart of guilt, self-punishment, and the struggle for redemption in a world shrouded in moral controversy.
