Plot

In 1973, a chilling event known as The Charles Experiment sent shockwaves through the world of paranormal psychology. Six daring researchers defied the boundaries of reality, attempting to make contact with their recently departed colleague, Charles Reamer. Fast forward to the modern day, a group of curious college students, led by the intrepid Patrick, embarks on a bold quest to recreate the experiment, documenting their journey into the unknown through the lens of a video camera. Parallel to this, we meet Kelly, a hardworking pet shop employee, and her boyfriend Ben, an electronic technician with a knack for problem-solving. They move into Kelly's mother's vacant house, anticipating a fresh start. However, a lurking sense of dread soon takes hold as they realize that they are not alone. An ominous force, unseen but palpable, permeates their new home, turning their dreams of tranquility into a ceaseless nightmare. As the hauntings intensify, Ben stumbles upon a series of cryptic emails from Patrick, including a video that documents a second, more harrowing experiment. Unveiling a terrible truth, Ben discovers that Patrick's reckless curiosity has torn open a portal, liberating a malevolent spirit into their world. The spectral entity feeds off their fear, relentlessly pursuing them, leaving them nowhere to run. With their lives hanging in the balance, Kelly and Ben's only ray of hope lies in confronting the very cause of their terror. They need to seek Patrick, the inadvertent instigator of their torment, and together, attempt to banish the terrifying apparition back to its realm. But as the spectral entity grows stronger, they must race against time, or risk being consumed by the very fear that feeds it.
