In the quaint, forgotten town of Butterface Fields, home to just 3,149 souls, we find Andy Sargentee teetering on the precipice of an all-consuming midlife crisis. Having lost his job amidst a whirlwind of controversy and with it, his livelihood, Andy finds himself rapidly spiraling into despair. His life further crumbles when his wife Thelma, disenchanted with the man he's become, divorces him. She soon marries the exceedingly successful Howard, deepening Andy's sense of inadequacy as a husband and a father to their teenage son, Billy. However, amid the chaos, Andy has a brainwave, a spark of inspiration that he believes could rescue him from his existential despair and restore his financial footing. He hatches a bold plan to rally the townsfolk and form an unprecedented, community-led production company. Their mission? To create the first full-length feature amateur adult film, a daring venture that promises to shake up the mundanity of their lives. Andy recruits a motley crew of characters from Floyd's Bar, each contributing $2000 to the venture. Among them is the ever-watchful kid from the video store, armed with his ever-present camcorder, and the town's favorite eccentric, simply known as "Some Idiot", who volunteers to steer the project as the writer-director. Otis, another town regular, steps up as the producer. Their ambitious venture presents a mountain of challenges: the need for actors, particularly women, and the struggle to maintain morale amidst the film's salacious theme. Andy's venture raises the question of whether such a scandalous project can possibly succeed.
