Plot

In the tense climax of the Indochina War in 1954, French and Laotian forces find themselves teetering on the precipice of survival. The Battle of Dien Bien Phu has dealt a crushing blow to the French forces, leaving them scrambling in retreat across the perilous landscapes of enemy territory. Among them is the 317th Platoon, a patchwork of French soldiers and Laotian allies, striving to navigate the treacherous labyrinth of dense jungle that separates them from the sanctuary of the nearest French outpost. Guiding the platoon through this deadly gauntlet are two disparate leaders: the idealistic yet green sous-lieutenant Torrens, and the battle-hardened adjutant Willsdorf, a relic of the German Wehrmacht from WWII. Their leadership styles often clash, adding an additional layer of tension to an already fraught situation. The 317th Platoon is ensnared by threats that not only outnumber them but also encircle them, turning their march to safety into a high-stakes game of survival. Their journey is a crucible of danger that will test their mettle, their unity, and their will to survive. Each step forward is fraught with risk, each decision carries the weight of life and death, and the ever-looming shadow of the enemy is a constant reminder of the odds stacked against them. Amid the chaos of war, the 317th Platoon must find a way to overcome both external adversaries and internal rifts, in a desperate race to reach safety before they are overrun.
