Plot

In 1965, The United States of America started sending troops to fight the war in Vietnam in its first major battle, located in the Central Highlands in the valley of Ia Drang. Lieutenant Colonel Harold Moore, a paratrooper and dedicated commander, prepares the 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Calvary Division for this battle. The 7th Cavalry Regiment was the ill-fated unit commanded by General George Armstrong Custer in the battle of Little Big Horn in 1876 and this unnerved Moore, so he studied the strategy before being shipped out. While the troops were away in Vietnam, anxious wives and families receive news of casualties.
