Synecdoche, New York (2008)

Caden Cotard is a recognized playwright, but his latest project is a more ambitious project than practically anything in the world of theater. His newly appointed McArthur Grant finally allows him the financial flexibility to do whatever he wants, and his new project is intended to be as intimate an homage to New York City as possible. He sets out on the task of recreating New York City in its entirety. With a simple warehouse as his canvas, his vision of the city begins to expand — but it also begins to become infected with the very issues Caden is trying to run away from.
