In the heart of a languishing department store, Louis Coline finds solace in his seemingly mundane life. Contentment resides in his tender marriage to Nina, cherished visits to his mother and grandmother, and the camaraderie of poker nights with friends. However, his tranquil existence is threatened by the arrival of the formidable Bernard Malair, the store's new head, who is determined to resurrect the store from its ashes.
Louis's fear of job insecurity transforms into a whirlwind of late-night work marathons, glitzy nightclub adventures, and sultry dinners with an intriguing androgynous enchantress. As he is drawn deeper into this tantalizing vortex led by Bernard and his calculating sidekick Paul, Louis finds himself unable to resist the allure of this electrifying new life.
The strain on his personal life intensifies as Nina, unable to keep up with the change, distances herself from Louis.
