Dangerous Minds (1995)

LouAnne Johnson is a teacher who begins to work at an inner-city high school. She is extremely distressed to discover the dilapidated state of the school and the extreme violence and poverty that surrounds the lives of the students she is attempting to teach. Drawing on her background as a former marine, Johnson attempts to build trust with her students, helping them learn lessons inside and outside of the classroom and giving them the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty, crime, and violence that surrounds their lives.
