Sleep Tight (2011)

César, portrayed by Luis Tosar, is the embodiment of a wolf in sheep's clothing. To the untrained eye, he is the epitome of a diligent concierge, tending to the needs of the apartment residents with a seemingly gentle and attentive touch. From fixing building glitches to walking the dogs, César convincingly masks his true self under a cloak of professional competence and unfailing reliability. Yet beneath this carefully constructed facade, lurks a monster born from a childhood devoid of love. Haunted by a complex relationship with his mother and an ingrained resentment towards the world, César is a deeply unhappy man who believes he was never meant to experience joy. This twisted perception of life leads him to a perverse mission: to drown those around him in the same misery he feels. Most tenants, easily ruffled, fall victim to César's insidious machinations, their lives unknowingly poisoned by the lonely concierge. But when he sets his sights on the cheerful Clara, played by Marta Etura, César finds his task more challenging than expected. Her resilient spirit and unwavering positivity prove to be a tough shell to crack, pushing César to frightening extremes in his quest to shatter her happiness. The plot thickens further when Clara's boyfriend, Marcos (Alberto San Juan), enters the picture, adding another layer to this intricate web of manipulation and deceit.
