The Net (1995)

It's the middle of the 1990's, and most of the world still doesn't know that much about the internet. Angela Bennett is an exception. She's a serious computer expert on the cutting edge of new technology, but her curiosity gets her in trouble when an internet friend sends her an attachment that carries a bug in it. He dies in a suspicious plane crash shortly thereafter, and Angela finds that her entire identity has been rewritten electronically. Now she's on the run with a police record and all the powers of the Net turned against her. Can she successfully go off the grid and deliver the classified information she now possesses to a safe source?

The Net is an action movie featuring Sandra Bullock and directed by Irwin Winkler.
