Plot

In the heart of Washington, DC, Slam paints the gritty portrait of Ray Joshua, a uniquely talented young MC ensnared in the tumultuous world of Dodge City, a notorious district plagued by relentless gang wars. Here, survival is a daily battle, and the only weapons Ray possesses are his sharp wits and the power of his words. The sphere of his existence drastically shifts when a casual conversation with his drug dealer ends in a hail of gunfire, resulting in his arrest and subsequent incarceration. Imprisoned within the cold walls of a correctional facility, Ray finds himself coveted by two rival gangs - the ruthless Thug Life and the formidable Union, both vying to harness his talent for their own gain. With the bleak reality of unemployment and the oppressive poverty of his neighborhood looming outside, Ray must navigate the treacherous waters of prison politics while keeping his integrity intact. His only escape from this unforgiving reality is his verbal prowess, a beacon that cuts through the despair, illuminating his path. Slam is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, a compelling narrative of one man's fight to rise above the circumstances that threaten to pull him under, carried by the rhythmic cadence of his spoken word.
