Plot

Amidst an economic downturn, Lucia faces the grim prospect of losing her mortgaged home, where she shares her world with her two children, the quirky Mr. Carlos, owner of the neighborhood second-hand store, and the resilient duo, Sergio, a daytime clown and nighttime waiter, and his wife Victoria. All hope rests on the young shoulders of Julieta, Lucia's youngest and a fresh law graduate, their beacon of light in these trying times. Then, on the fateful morning of November 6, 1985, the tides of their lives are irrevocably changed. Julieta heads to her job at the Palace of Justice, a promising day that ends in despair as she never returns. The Palace, a symbol of justice and hope, is reduced to ashes in a guerilla attack, and Julieta seems to have vanished in its smoky ruins. Yet, whispers of her being spotted alive after the tragic incident keep their wavering hopes alive. Set against the backdrop of true events in Colombia, 1985, the inhabitants of Lucia's humble abode find their lives entwined with the country's tumultuous history, grappling with loss, uncertainty, and the eternal quest for survival. Their story is a testament to resilience, a poignant portrayal of ordinary lives caught in the crossfire of extraordinary circumstances.
