Plot

In the gripping drama "Shattered" (1991), successful architect Dan Merrick emerges from the wreckage of a horrific car accident, his face severely disfigured, and his memory swept clean by amnesia. As he stumbles through the fog of his lost past, he finds himself tethered to a life that seems as fractured as his reflection in the mirror. His wife, Judith, a silhouette of familiar affection, strives to guide him back to the man he once was. However, the more Merrick attempts to piece together his shattered past, the more it seems to crumble under scrutiny. Unsettling discrepancies in the narratives spun by Judith, his business partner, and his partner's wife, begin to nudge at the edges of his fractured memory. Haunting flashbacks of unfamiliar events and places he cannot recall add to the growing sense of disquiet. In this labyrinth of deception and misplaced trust, Merrick finds an unlikely ally in Gus Klein, a pet shop owner with a side hustle as a private detective. Klein, a character from Merrick's forgotten past, was once employed by him to investigate a suspected affair of his wife. Now, he finds himself rehired to sift through the wreckage of Merrick's enigmatic past, aiding him in his quest for truth. In "Shattered", the line between reality and illusion blurs, as Merrick races against his own mind to unravel the mystery of his identity, leading him on a suspense-filled journey where the past is as elusive as the future.
