Plot

In the tumultuous year of 1939, amidst the static and sizzle of the airwaves, a new contender, WBN, a fourth radio network, is poised to make its audacious debut nationwide. The stage is set, the nerves are taut, and the air is brimming with a chaotic cocktail of anticipation and apprehension. At the heart of this pandemonium is Penny Henderson, the station owner's diligent secretary. She's grappling with a frenzied whirlwind of challenges - an irate sponsor, a despotic boss, an inept director, volatile stars, and a rebellion brewing amongst unpaid writers. Adding a personal layer to this professional turmoil is her soon-to-be ex-husband, Roger, who is resolute in his mission to rekindle their love. As the spotlight illuminates the opening act, the broadcast is jarringly interrupted by a mysterious, ominous voice. Sinister events unfurl, casting a macabre shadow over the radio network's premiere. The realization slowly dawns on the WBN team - the eerie silence of dead air pales before the mounting terror within their very ranks. The unsettling echo of the voice soon gives way to a chilling series of murders, as cast members are found dead one by one. In the labyrinthine corridors of WBN, Roger finds himself not only in pursuit of his estranged love but also of an elusive killer. Simultaneously, he becomes the quarry in a relentless chase by the police. The curtain rises not on a radio show, but a thrilling cat-and-mouse game, where the stakes are as high as they can get. As the narrative unwinds, Roger is thrust into the role of the unlikely detective, determined to crack the case and clear his name, even as the specter of suspicion looms over him.
