Operation Pacific (1951)

In the gripping heart of World War II, the submarine USS Thunderfish, under the stewardship of Executive Officer Duke Gifford, embarks on a clandestine mission to rescue vulnerable orphans marooned on a secluded Pacific island. On their tumultuous journey back to the safety of Honolulu, they cross paths with a formidable Japanese aircraft carrier. They launch their torpedoes, but to no avail; they detonate prematurely, a persistent issue that has been a thorn in the side of the submarine fleet.
