Plot

In the vibrant era of the early 1980s, two high school senior sisters, Regina and Samantha Belmont, find themselves unexpectedly cast as the heroines of a post-apocalyptic world. More comfortable with fashion trends than cosmic events, the Valley Girls awaken one day to blood-red skies and a chilling truth—the vast majority of the human race has been wiped out, reduced to mere piles of red dust. This cataclysmic event happens as Earth passes through the tail of a comet, the first to approach our planet in 65 million years. The sisters soon discover that anyone not sheltered by steel during this celestial phenomenon has either been vaporized or transformed into a flesh-craving zombie. Along with a friendly truck driver they encounter, the girls seize control of a local radio station, sending out pleas for help across the desolate airwaves. Their broadcast, however, attracts the attention of a desperate group of scientists hidden underground in a steel lab. These scientists, who had anticipated the comet's devastating effects, are now frantically seeking a vaccine to save themselves from the fate of the decaying, half-infected survivors they carelessly exposed to the comet's aftermath. As the only humans unaffected by the comet, Regina and Samantha find themselves caught in a battle for survival, not just against the roving packs of cannibalistic zombies, but also with the scientists desperate to use their blood for a potential vaccine. So begins an adrenaline-fueled adventure, where the Valley Girls must outwit, outmaneuver, and outlast their pursuers, all while embodying the spirit of their time—when survival means more than just staying alive, it means doing it in style!
