Never Let Go (1960)

In the heart of London, Lionel Meadows, the deceitful owner of a garage, has found a lucrative sideline - trading in stolen automobiles. His operation is slick, utilizing a team of skilled chop-shop mechanics and a gang of audacious teenage car thieves. Caught in this web of crime is John Cummings, a beleaguered cosmetics salesman teetering on the brink of job loss, struggling to meet his sales quotas and desperately dependent on his recently acquired 1959 Ford Anglia for his sample deliveries to department stores. However, fate deals him a cruel blow when his precious vehicle falls prey to the nimble fingers of Tommy Towers, a young, petty thief in Meadows' employ. Ignoring the slow wheels of justice, John reports the theft to the police, only to be met with bureaucratic complacency and a vague promise of eventual recovery. The pressures of work, coupled with the demands of home, push John to the edge of desperation. He grows increasingly impatient, no longer willing to wait passively for the police. Ignoring their counsel, John plunges headfirst into a dangerous quest to reclaim his stolen car.
