Plot

In the isolated world of her childhood, May was an eccentric girl plagued by a lazy eye and friendless existence, her only companion an odd, unattractive doll gifted by her peculiar mother, confined in a glass prison. As she morphs into an equally unusual adult, May's world revolves around an animal hospital where she assists in surgeries, painstakingly stitching up wounded creatures under the watchful eye of her lesbian co-worker, Polly, whose intrigue towards her is hard to miss. May's life takes an intriguing turn when she crosses paths with Adam Stubbs, a mechanic whose hands she grows obsessively fond of. As they start dating, Adam is inevitably repelled by May's strange demeanor. Shunned by Adam, she finds solace in a fleeting affair with Polly, only to be left alone once again when Polly finds a new love interest, Ambrosia. Devastatingly alone, May's world shatters when her beloved doll meets an unfortunate end. Fueled by desperation and derangement, May embarks on a chilling quest to create a friend of her own, using the most desirable traits from those around her. The journey she undertakes is as eerily captivating as her odd personality, enthralling viewers with a blend of melancholy and horror.
