Plot

Immersed in a world of contrasts, the film Manto navigates the tumultuous journey of four years in the life of the renowned author, simultaneously charting the destiny of two nascent nations - India and Pakistan. In the glittering underbelly of Bombay's cinematic landscape, Manto's tales find resonance and acceptance. However, as sectarian strife consumes the subcontinent, he bids a heart-wrenching farewell to his cherished Bombay. In the unfamiliar lanes of Lahore, Manto faces isolation, his literary genius unappreciated. The claws of alcoholism dig deeper, dragging him into a vortex of despair. Yet, amidst the chaos, his pen never ceases to dance on paper, churning out undiluted narratives. Manto is the compelling saga of two evolving nations, two cities teetering on the brink, and one man striving to decipher the tumult around him, one story at a time.
