Plot

In the sprawling sugar plantations of Southern Philippines' Negros, a respected matriarch finds herself on the precipice of mortality. Her impending demise sends ripples through the community, drawing her children back to the ancestral home they once knew. As the news of their mother's frail condition permeates their lives, they are thrust into a delicate dance of dealing with unresolved issues of inheritance, the weight of tradition, and the looming shadow of their family's past. Each child must grapple with the imminent loss while navigating the labyrinth of their dark family legacy. In this setting, where the sweet sugar cane fields contrast sharply with the bitter truths being unearthed, they come to understand that every family possesses its unique narrative, its own labyrinth of secrets waiting to be discovered. In the heart of Negros, within the walls of their ancestral home, the children of the beloved matriarch will learn that death isn't just an end, but a gateway to confronting the past and redefining their futures. As they face their mother's mortality, they also confront their own humanity in a tale as timeless as family itself. "Mana" is a testament to the universal truth that every family has its story, its secrets, and its deserved moments of reckoning.
