In the austere shadows of a repressive era, school friends Axun and Maite were forced to suppress their blossoming relationship, surrendering to societal norms. Their lives diverged as Axun embraced matrimony and rural tranquility, while Maite, grappling with her sexual identity, ventured across the globe. Now, after scaling the mountain of a successful career as a piano teacher, Maite returns to her hometown, San Sebastian, to relish in the serenity of her twilight years. Their paths intertwine again after five decades when they unexpectedly reunite in the sterile corridors of a hospital, drawn together by their roles as caregivers to two seriously injured patients. The initial flicker of recognition ignites into a flame of rekindled emotions, as their friendship, frozen in time, begins to thaw. Beneath the surface of their amicable reunion, a torrent of suppressed emotions and desires starts to burgeon with an intensity that mirrors their youth. Axun finds herself at the precipice of self-discovery, as she begins to question the fabric of her marriage and the authenticity of her feelings towards Maite, who now confidently embraces her lesbian identity.
