Animorphs (1998)

The tale begins with Elfangor, an alien prince from the Andalite world, whose life is fading as his ship crash-lands on the enigmatic planet known as Earth. This is not his inaugural encounter with Earth's expansive and awe-inspiring landscapes, but it is destined to be his last. A sinister parasitic species, the Yeerks, have covertly initiated an invasion, aiming to ensnare and enslave every human soul. In the face of this silent onslaught, Elfangor finds his hope in the eyes of five unsuspecting human adolescents. The innocence they possess belies their ignorance of the looming threat that has already ensnared their loved ones. Yet, it is upon their young shoulders that the burden of Earth's salvation will ultimately rest. Arming them with an Andalite technology unknown to any other species, Elfangor bestows upon them the power to morph, enabling them to harness the energy and instincts of any creature they touch. This extraordinary gift offers them a fighting chance against the Yeerks, transforming them from ordinary adolescents into Earth's unlikely defenders. Even as he is hailed a hero by his Andalite kin, Elfangor harbors secrets that will eventually surface, shedding light on the truth he wishes the five untrained yet resilient human children to discover. Unseasoned as they are, Elfangor places his dying faith in their capacity for greatness. For sometimes, it is the young who possess the fierce courage and astonishing ability to orchestrate incredible feats.
