Plot

In the small, tight-knit community of Pleasant Valley, Lacey Hathaway, an effervescent radio show host for WPVK 88.1 FM, is the heartbeat of the town. Having spent her life drifting between different locales with her musician parents, Lacey seeks stability and finds it in the quiet charm of Pleasant Valley. She resides in the quaint Hathaway Guest House, run by her Aunt Patty, who also owns the beloved local bakery, Patty Cakes. Lacey's radio station is the town's lifeline, a connection point for the community's shared stories and dreams. However, a severe funding shortfall threatens to silence the station's airwaves. Unfazed but not naturally detailed-oriented, Lacey takes it upon herself to organize the Bachelor Bake-Off, a whimsical fundraising event designed to rescue the station from its financial crisis. The event's main draw is an auction featuring the town's most eligible bachelors, their homemade baked goods, and themselves as potential dates. The arrival of Zac Malone, a meticulous software engineer from a Boston-based start-up, adds an unexpected twist to Lacey's plans. Zac is in town to fine-tune a user-friendly accounting software he developed, working closely with City Hall Treasurer, Ben Harten. However, Zac inadvertently becomes the scapegoat for the radio station's financial woes when the town's contributions are slashed due to budgeting errors discovered through Zac's new software. Zac and Lacey are a study in contrasts: while Lacey lives in the spontaneity of the moment, Zac is a by-the-book, no-nonsense individual. Nonetheless, when Lacey's star bachelor drops out, she convinces the reluctant Zac to step in. In return, Zac agrees to help her navigate the complexities of financial planning for the bake-off, a task she finds utterly baffling. As they work and live together, the differences between Lacey and Zac start to blur, replaced by a burgeoning affection. They discover a shared passion for helping those in need. But the question remains: Can they bridge their differences and the wide gap between the rhythms of small-town life and the hustle of the big city for a shot at a fairy-tale ending?
