Fail Safe (1964)

In the chilling depths of the Cold War, an unthinkable glitch shatters the United States Air Force's meticulously constructed fail-safe systems. A squadron of Vindicator bombers, armed with nuclear warheads, unknowingly crosses the Bering Strait towards the USSR, their deadly payload programmed for one destination - Moscow. This unforeseen error, a catastrophic blend of both human and computer failure, throws the world into a state of panic, with no one able to discern how or why it happened. In this desperate hour, the weight of the world rests on the President of the United States, who must attempt to defuse this international crisis with his Soviet counterpart.
