The Darkest Hour (2011)

When lights begin appearing in the night sky, the first assumption is that it's a strange but natural phenomenon. But it quickly becomes apparent that they come from alien ships and that this is an active invasion from another planet. Two American businessmen are simply in Moscow, and their failed business trip turns into a dramatic attempt to just survive with the group of acquaintances they spent the night hanging out with. It turns out that the aliens are using our own power supplies as a weapon against us, and the few survivors might be among the last remaining on Earth.
