Plot

In the labyrinthine urban jungle, Pip, a street-smart urchin, embraces life with audacity and resilience. On his eighteenth birthday, a ghost from the past comes alive as he receives his grandfather's audiotaped memoirs from World War II, a legacy steeped in heroism and heartbreak. As he listens, Pip finds himself journeying alongside his grandfather, who vividly recounts his own eighteenth birthday - a harrowing escape from German forces through the dense forests of France, a gravely injured comrade clinging to life by his side. In an uncanny mirroring of lives across time, Pip begins to navigate his own eighteen-year-old life, equally lost in the urban chaos and generational chasms. His journey introduces him to Clark, a shrewd gay hustler striving for a better life, and Jenny, an ambitious social worker who lures Pip with the allure of love and a stable life. Amidst his tangled life, Pip strikes up a poignant relationship with a compassionate local priest, his confidant for a dark secret - his brother's death and the horrendous act his father inflicted upon him prior to his passing. This is a tale of two lives intertwined by fate and time, a testament to survival and the human spirit's indomitable will to keep moving forward, even when haunted by ghosts of the past. As Pip delves deeper into his grandfather's wartime memories, he also embarks on his own battle for survival in the urban wilderness, drawing strength from his grandfather's courage and resilience.
