In the heart-warming backdrop of sunny Los Angeles, California, the destinies of five diverse tales intertwine, each bound by the common thread of their endearing canine companions. Esteemed morning TV show hostess, Elizabeth, finds her life taking an unexpected turn when a calamitous interview with ex-basketball player, Jimmy, results in him becoming her co-host. Their chemistry begins to stir up more than just show ratings, complicating their professional relationship. Elsewhere in the city, coffee shop waitress Tara spends her days in the company of her dog-walker friend Daisy, harbouring a silent crush on the charismatic, yet narcissistic vet, Dr. Mike. Her world intersects with the introverted Garrett, who runs an animal care center. Unspoken affection blossoms between them just as the future of Garrett's center hangs in the balance. In a quiet suburb, anxiety-ridden couple Grace and Kurt struggle to make their first adoptive child, Amelia, feel at home. The little girl's joy is sparked when she finds a lost dog, though the couple live in fear that its rightful owner might reclaim it. Meanwhile, Dax, an adult trapped in his teen persona and the frontman of the aspiring rock band Frunk, reluctantly takes in his pregnant sister's dog. Despite his apartment's no-dog policy, the pooch begins to bring a semblance of order to his chaotic life. Not far away, lonely widower Walter's world is turned upside down when his beloved pet runs away, leading him to form an unlikely alliance with a young pizza delivery boy, Tyler, to rescue his four-legged friend. As time unfolds, Walter's past as a teacher proves beneficial for Tyler's academic journey. As the stories progress, they begin to crash into each other in unexpected ways, triggered by Tara's endeavor to save Garrett's animal care center through a benefit concert.
