Plot
A boy disappears in 1978 only to appear eight years later. If that weren't unusual enough in its own right, he doesn't appear to have aged a day. The military researchers who evaluate him determine that he seems to have an advanced knowledge of space that goes well beyond what the most advanced science can offer — but the most fantastical thing is that he's now bonded with the mysterious alien ship that led to his appearance in the first place. As the navigator, he may not understand exactly what he's doing, but he's destined to be the source of first contact.
