In the wake of a shattering revelation of her husband's infidelity with her best friend Connie, Birdee Calvert-Pruitt finds herself returning to the familiar streets of her hometown, Smithville, Texas. The scandal, unveiled on a national talk show, has left her dignity bruised and her flawless reputation tarnished. Birdee, once the unblemished beauty and the high school cheerleader who married the quarterback, now faces the smirking faces of old acquaintances, all too eager to remind her of her fall from grace.
