Dark City (1998)

There's never daylight in Dark City, and most people live their lives completely oblivious to the fact that their circumstances are completely at the mercy of strange and alien creatures. John Murdoch begins as one such man — an amnesiac who wakes up next to the body of a dead sex worker. But Murdoch begins to suspect that the creatures following him aren't exactly human and are less interested in his guilt than they are in the worrying powers he might possess. As the rest of the world sleeps and is manipulated at the mercy of these strangers, Murdoch sees what's going on behind the curtains.
